ON MY WISHLIST: Hand-Crochet Animal Cushions

I have a feeling hand-crochet toys will be one of those luxuries I don't mind saving for, to give our future kiddos quality keepsakes that are just as fun as they are cute. While browsing Etsy to see what kind of hand-knit and hand-crochet stuffed animals were out there, I stumbled on this Etsy shop: Peanut Butter Dynamite. Check out the cute puppy faces! I think they are my favorite. I can just imagine one of these guys sitting on a rocking chair in our kiddo's nursery. And we would be supporting the handmade community too! My wishlist just got longer.

When a lady combines a week of Mad Men watching with a week of thrifting and antiquing, she can't help but completely obsess over vintage bar equipment. This girl loves a happy hour downtown with friends, but now that it's getting cooler outside, I'm anticipating a swiftly impending season of hibernation. Inspired By: Vintage Velvet & Tapestry Pillows

In decorating my home, I desperately try to maintain the delicate balance between vintage granny, bohemian hippie, and Scandinavian modern. The key to the granny aspect? Lots of florals, lace, and needlework. For the Scandinavian, I stick with white walls, enjoy my Saarinen knock-off side table, and lust after other designer pieces I cannot afford. To add more of a bohemian vibe, I like to display kilim rugs on the floors, ombre dye my curtains, and have lots of pillows strewn about.

But when two of my favorite decor styles meet in the middle? Perfection! I think granny pillows from around the 1960s are to die for, and if you do too, well, you're in luck! I've just rounded up my favorite ones from various Etsy sellers below:

A Bit of Vintage for the Modern World

Normally I like to share my scrapbook pages on Wednesdays, but since my camera gave up the ghost, I've been perusing flickr instead. I stumbled on Helena's flickr stream and thought for a moment that she was a scrapbooker. It turns out, she is a textile crafter! 

Her work has a sort of modern crafty cottage feel, which is something that I am usually drawn to in paper and textile art. Helena blogs about her crafts and life and also has an Etsy shop where she sells the things she makes. Right now her shop is on vacation, but I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for her return!
