Well, southerners, you win! You win, I say! I seriously thought I was melting in the Savannah sun, with naught but a slight breeze to warm my rosy cheeks. You see, this Lake Erie girl is not much of a beach vacationer in the Summer months, but ask me again in December or February, and I'm sure I'll be down for a toasty getaway!
Phil and I were only able to spend a few hours in Savannah during our week-long stay at Hilton Head Island. But during those hours, we packed in a lot of vintage shopping, eating, walking, sweating, and a wee bit of site seeing. It's such a beautiful old city, full of history and mysteries. I'd love to go back some day and take one of those corny guided tours. Those are kind of my thing. Or maybe a haunted tour? That would be the tops. Sounds like an October trip is in order! (In my dreams, that is. With a teacher for a husband, we can never get away in the Fall. Sigh.)
your dress is so beautiful!!

I can't decide which dress I like better. The peach/gray one is so unique, not a color combo you see often! And I say heck yes to a haunted ghost tour. I'm going on one when I visit Chicago in October and I'm stoked.

That dress is really REALLY great on you. hang in there! We're in Texas and they're saying it should get up to 108 today!! Not including heat index!!! I feel your pain.

Savannah in the fall is still hot. Go at Christmas break, and you'll really love it.

Hi Mandi,
What beautiful moments you have captured!! Is the chocolate ice cream your or Phil ? :) That makes me crave some :) that is exactly how i would eat it! You look beautiful! I literally am a big mess when I sweat in the heat, but you look great :) I adore the gray and salmon colored dress! Is it linen?
I hear ya about vacationing in the fall! Yanni also teaches and I would love to go away in March, but that can't happen!
Have a wonderful weekend!!
Have a lovely,

you look like a freaking goddess against that wall in that dress.
if savannah melts your butter, don't come to texas until december. we hit 109 today and no break of the 100s for at least ten days.

I went to Savannah this March and it was lovely and super chilly. I'm from Texas, though, so anything in comparison is quite nippy. I would go back (and to Tybee Island) in a heart beat.

Oh gosh you were in my sleepy savannah home! I'm so bummed I didn't run into you! Next time you come back let me know. I'll show you some secret thrifting spots only the locals know!
You look beautiful, even in the southern heat!

I took a corny ghost tour through Savannah a few years back and while it was sort of a joke, it was actually kind of cool! They told some stories about the willow trees in a particular part of the city that I still retell. =] Sounds like your trip was lovely!

Next time you have to stop at Back in the Day Bakery. It is vintage and sugar heaven.

Oh my god, if you like cheesy take the haunted tour in the hearse. I don't know the tour company's name, but yeah. I live an hour south of Savannah on the coast and I see that hearse every time we visit!
Oh, if you go again, the gelateria in City Market is the best. AVOID AVOID AVOID Paula Deen's restaurant though unless you like warmed-over cafeteria trays of mac and cheese.
Your high-waisted skirt is really inspiring me!

I stumbled across your blog today and I'm so glad I found this post. My husband and I spent a week in Savannah and Tybee Island this June and my oh my was it hot! But I LOVED the city! Did you love Vinnie Van Go Go's??
