Life without a television is often pretty productive, I've discovered. The problem is when you want to have a "date night" at home, and there is nowhere to watch a movie! Out of necessity, we started watching movies on our laptop, but found it to be more comfortable to watch it in bed. Que romantica! And just to make sure no hanky-panky happens before the movie is over (this only sometimes works!), we make our favorite snack to eat during the movie. Kettle corn!
It's probably my most favorite snack ever, which is kind of rough on me this week, because I'm doing a two week sugar ban with a friend. So, since I can't have any, I figured I would share with you a little video demonstration on how to make your own kettle corn at home.
(Please be gentle! This is my very first shy and hat-headed attempt at making a nice short film for you all.) (Music is "Vanishing" by Architecture in Helsinki.)
Oh, this is so lovely. :) Date nights...so cute. By the by, cinnamon & sugar popcorn is my weakness.

Awesome! My husband and I haven't had a TV since we were married 6 years ago, and we always watch movies on our laptop in bed as well. :) So much more cosy!

Ah, this might be our kettle corn solution! We've tried making it in our Whirly-Pop thingamajig and it sort of worked...but it also sort of didn't. Your handy-dandy and adorable video helped though! Perhaps some kettle corn will be popped tonight... :)

I love watching movies in bed with a laptop! It's one of my favorite at-home dates - so cuddly and cozy. We'll have to add kettle corn to our routine!

seriously loved this little video. made me smile. chris and i make caramel corn a lot...with melted marshmallows and light brown sugar. i totally agree with you about not having a tv. we got rid of ours in september and now we watch lots of movies and hulu. but we pull out our hide-a-bed instead. keeps our sleeping bed free of popcorn crumbs. ;)
