Thought I'd let you guys into my home for a bit and show you what's happening. The radiators are on, things are cozy, and I'm gearing up for the holiday season. What's going on at your place?
Lovely photos of your home, so pretty and cozy! I've been looking for a post featuring your DIY coffee table. Can you reply with the URL if it is still on your website please? :)

Hi Van,
I never actually posted a tutorial or how-to on making the coffee table. My father and I simply built two table tops (one big one for the dining room, one small one for the living room) out of strips of oak barn siding. At the time, my father was working for the Hoover Company in North Canton and was on his last days before the plant shut down for good. So, one of his buddies in the steel shop built him a jig so he could evenly drill holes into each side of the barn siding. We filled the holes with wooden pegs and glue and then pushed each plank together using clamps. After the glue dried, we trimmed down the top to size, added little slivers of wood to trim the edge, and then it sat around for a while until I found vintage hairpin legs on ebay that I drilled into the bottom of the table.
Hope that helps!

Hay lady, I have a Q- When you find awesome vintage pillows, how do you clean them? Do you take the case off, if possible, and just throw it in the machine..(i'd be afraid to damage..) or maybe handwash? I find that some thrifted pillows have a bit of a weird smell. Thanks!

Ginny,
The best advice I have heard regarding washing vintage pillows (especially embroidered ones) is to pop them in a Dryel bag and wash according to the instructions that come with the bag. Hope that helps! :)

my husband and i have been living in our apartment for a few months so I'm really starting to get the itch to spice things up with the decor. We are newlyweds so we inherited lots of mismatchness, which i love but i want to add some color because it's mostly all cream like the walls. thank you for all of your inspiration!

Such a cozy post, Mandi! It's just lovely. Cozy fall days/evenings are my favorite. I'm sitting down to enjoy a mug of hot apple cider right now, actually. It's thunder-storming outside, so spending the evening catching up on blogs with my mug of cider sounds perfect. Hope you're doing well!
