There's not much worse than running into somebody you know and having them ask you, "Are you okay? You don't look like you feel very well." Well, golly, gee. Thanks for the compliment!
Fortunately, as I was armed with red lipstick and blush, nobody has been able to tell that I am sick until either A: I open my mouth to speak. B: I withdraw my arsenal of tissues and obnoxiously blow my nose. or C: Do not respond to text messages or cell phone calls because I have been put under, courtesy of Theraflu.
Anyway, I guess this nasty sinus cold thing has been going around my group of Canton friends, so it was only a matter of time before I fell prey. Though I have been trying not to sleep the whole day away as there are things to be done around here! I've found that dressing up has helped me be more productive, when all I really want to do is cuddle up on bed with a box of tissues, a pot of tea, and a Netflix movie.
This particular jacket I found at a local antique mall. It was pretty boxy, so I took it in generously around the waist, which makes the last button stay open and form a nice V shape at my waist. Much more flattering, I think. The last effort at tailoring the jacket was to pair it with a high waist pleated skirt and wrap a belt around it.
