Ahhh, summertime. Goodbye.

A lot of people seem ready for Autumn already.  But we've had just enough of a mix of steamy and chilly days here that I'm perfectly content to enjoy summer for yet another month.  The only problem is, today I go back to school.  I am mourning the fact that this day truly marks the end of Summer for me!  Phil and I said our farewells to the season of freedom last weekend by doing lots of summery things.  Like attending festivals and going out for ice cream.  I swear, I will go back to my vegan ways after summer and its abundance of ice cream has passed.  (I am so not hardcore.)

 

 

I am trying to get my use out of open toed shoes and short dresses before I have to start wearing boots and tights.  Not that I don't love tights... there's just something about that barelegged feeling.

 

 

Soon our ice cream trysts will turn into coffee shop romances and cuddle sessions by the fireplace.

 

I really truly can't get over how tan Phil gets in the Summer.  I used to get quite bronzy myself, until I had to get a spot removed a couple of years ago... and now I like to slather on the sunscreen and stay in the shade.  I love how i actually look tan in this picture though!

While we were eating, a stray cat (kinda aggressive acting- scary!) wandered in and was hoping to get some leftovers, I think.

I know I'm being somewhat melodramatic... and there will still be some fun Summer adventures to be had before Autumn rolls in, despite the fact that we'll both be back at school.  But I can't help but feel pretty sad right now.

I'll miss a lot of Summer too. Early morning walks when the sun rises, smoothies, and night skies. Sighhhh. But, dude, SO ready for a fresh beginning. I need one so bad.

I'm an ice cream addict too... and if the real stuff didn't make my stomach seize up like it's going to implode I would indulge a lot more. As it is right now, I did find a lovely coconut milk substitute at Whole Foods.... pretty good stuff.

But when we got out to our favorite pizza place it is hell trying to stay away from the gelato. Ugh.

I've been meaning to blog about this, but Neil and I went to a raw food festival a few weeks ago and I tried cashew ice cream. Amazing stuff. Seriously. I was thinking of you the whole time!

today was first day back at school for me & my hubster too. there are some absolute *babies* in my history class! that's what i get for going back to school at almost 30. lol

(sigh)...I am totally not ready for fall! I know it's gonna sneak up on me, though. It always does! There's nothing that beats open toes and bare legs, though. Okay, maybe tights...lol. You got me there.
