That means this past weekend was pretty great, eh? I think so! I was supposed to go look at the bike "around 6 pm Friday evening." It was about an hour and 15 minutes from my house, and I did end up getting lost, since there are about three different Chagrin road exits that I know of, and no iPhone in sight. Yet, I still pulled into the driveway at exactly 6 pm! These things make me so happy. Being on time, and vintage bicycles. I mean really, does it get any better than that?
I ended up purchasing the bike, even though I was disappointed with how much rust was built up over the body. You know, I think I will enjoy the experience of fixing up the bike more than just purchasing one and riding away onto Easy Street. I even woke up early on Saturday so I could work at the rust a little bit. You can see in this picture how it looked on the right and how much better it's starting to look where I've worked at it.
My dad and I are taking the bike apart this week and sand blasting all of the painted parts. One of my dad's friends paints cars, so I'm going to see if he can paint the bike like how it was originally. But meanwhile, I will be polishing the rusted steel, which will not get painted.
I also spent Saturday morning crafting with my little cousins. And while they were whole heartedly making greeting card after greeting card, I was playing with their ponies.
They have millions of them (this snapshot is only of the ponies that were lying at my feet), and the great part about them is that I can remember when their older sisters and I were their age and we played with the very same ponies. And I thought they were the coolest. Annie, the cousin who is my age, asked me if I was reliving my childhood. I said, "Reliving? What do you mean? I'm living it!"
And yes, of course I curled the pony's hair and posed it for a picture.
that bike is awesome! now find me one please : )

Your bike is so cool! And ohmygosh -- my little pony was such an important part of my childhood. I can't wait until I have a daughter so we can play with mine all over again! :)

I used to love my little pony. Remember the little brushes that came with them?? Oh the joys of being a child of the eighties.
