It's a little weird to be saying goodbye to this place. Okay, it's all kinds of weird! But I'm even more kinds of excited to share with you my new online home where I'll be setting out on all sorts of adventures. Click the image above to head over to the new site!
This morning I'm sharing some wisdome I've learned through my years of blogging (pouring over old archives will make you realize a lot of insightful things!), and throughout the week I'll be posting my regular content that you're used to seeing here, plus additional crafty things. And did I mention I completely organized all of my old archives? Some of my major category pages now show posts at a glance, so you can easily find what you're looking for without scrolling throw tons of pages. You'll have to just check it out for yourself. Whewie! Lots to see.
Oh, fashion bloggers. You inspire me to be more creative with my wardrobe, to travel to new places, and to spend more money on clothes (oops). I must admit, I've recently cleared a lot of fashion blogs from my blog reader, in an effort to streamline my mind and better curate the influences on my own personal sense of style. As I went through the process of tailoring my list of favorite fashion bloggers, I began to notice a trend in the ladies I love to follow. Each of these girls seem like down-to-earth ladies who don't take fashion seriously, but seriously love the 1960s. Just looking at their clothes each week makes me wish we were friends in real life! (I don't even care how lame-o that makes me sound.)
Of course, there are other fashion bloggers I admire, but these ladies have me particularly wishing for the days when this baby bump will have disappeared. Then I can find some crazy floral trousers like the ones worn by Nicole of Fashion Forestry. Ah-mazing!

For a few months now, I've been dreaming of making my blog more than what it is, and basically starting over from scratch. I had made a long list of fun projects to make and share, had lots of dreams for creative maternity outfits, and other fantastic features I thought you guys would enjoy seeing on my blog. During that time, I suffered some pretty major hits to my momentum, what with my miscarriage, my month-long illness this Spring, and morning sickness with this pregnancy. Well, I finally had enough with excuses and started busting my butt designing and preparing a home for all of these projects I've been working on behind the scenes. And guess what? What does this mean? Well, I'll still leave the lights on for ya here at this old blog, but the real fun will be happening at my new address, which I'll share with you when the website is ready for launch next week (crossing my fingers for Monday!). Most of Here's Looking at Me, Kid's archives will live on in organized directories at the new site, but in addition to the old stuff, there will be lots of fresh DIYs, fashion posts, home-making ideas, creative projects, and preparations for our baby girl- and, oh! I couldn't be more excited to share it all with you! If you have a business or blog that you want to share for the launch of the new site, I'm offering a special deal on advertising to kick off my brand new start. See below for details, and e-mail me (graycandibear [at] yahoo [dot] com) if you're interested! But remember, you only have 4 days to take advantage of this special price! (Click here for my current blog stats and here for press information.)
Every time I wear this skirt, I think of watermelon. It's the perfect shade of green, and I've actually considered replacing the lining with a pretty pink satin, just to enjoy a good ol' inside joke with myself. A literal inside joke. ;) Anyways, taking my literalism to a whole new level, I've donned this watermelon-like skirt and stuffed a baby inside of it to give it the nice round shape you would expect from a nice melon. But now, all of this talk of watermelon has made me hungry! Good thing I have some saved in the fridge!
