Arts & Crafts | An Anniversary Book

After four years of marriage, what's a wife to do? (Okay, okay... what's a sweet G-rated thing she can do?) Well, you could write a cute blog post including photos from your wedding, make a scrapbook page about your anniversary date, or, I suppose, if you're a really good wife, you could put together a little book detailing special memories from the past years.

Since I'm a really good wife, that's exactly what I did! (No need to get all squinty-eyed, either, because I left out the juicy details. Those will be discussed over dinner. And maybe reenacted after dinner.)

Outfit to Scrapbook: 90's Flower Child

Sometimes I wish I could turn my scrapbooking supplies into outfit materials. But since that's impossible, this amazing outfit was top on my list to turn into a scrapbook page. Check out those '90s trousers and that amazing shirt! To start out my page, I painted white cardstock with some paint I mixed up to match the peachy-pink of the shirt's stripes.

Next, I added black stamping to tie in the black elements of the outfit. Since the color picture I used matched the colors of the girl's trousers, I only used a bit of floral paper. Lighter floral on the top, and darker floral on the bottom. The kraft paper frame and buttons tied in the last elements I wanted to use from the outfit. Next step? Find some amazing pants just like hers!

Outfit to Scrabook: Pretty and Eclectic

The approachably pretty vibe of this outfit is outstanding. What a lovely ensemble to use as inspiration for a modern scrapbook page about Elizabeth Taylor, yeah?

To translate the outfit into a scrapbook page, I mostly drew from the color scheme. There is a bit of floral and black & white pattern going on too, but in dealing with photos, sometimes it's best to keep patterns down to a minimum. I thought including this clipping from a vintage magazine would really give it that graphic modern punch. And Lord knows, Elizabeth adds her fair share of pretty to this layout!

Outfit to Scrapbook: Prints Charming

Erin stole my heart with her cheerful outfit that she titled "Prints Charming." I love the classic, yet actually quite busy look she has going on. I wanted to capture the feeling of this outfit in a scrapbook page.

Mostly I took advantage of similar colors as well as pattern mixing in this scrapbook page, and really put it over the top with using a magazine page as a background. I know my page turned out a bit busier than her outfit, but hey, I was feelin' gutsy!

Also, I would have loved to use the darker teal color that you see in her skirt, but I'm afraid I'm a bit low on dark teal supplies. Maybe I should... ummm... go scrapbook shopping? (If you saw my massive amounts of supplies, you would guffah at that comment!)
