If you're the kind of person who is easily bored and is constantly craving change, then Northeast Ohio is the place for you! One day I'm sweating outside in sunny temperatures above 100 degrees, and three days later it's 40 degrees colder and I can finally break into my jacket collection. Mind you, I'm not complaining! I totally dig it. So here I am, donning my favorite condiment colored outfit (or Ronald McDonald, if you will) and definitely (bada ba ba ba) lovin' it.

such a rich, autumnal color combo! love it :)

Soooo cuuuute! I love it. Mustard is one of my favorite fall colors, and I love the way you used the tie around the blouse collar.

And I live in mid-Michigan, and the weather's been the same way here! It can never seem to make up its mind... so moody.

Steffys Pros and Cons

Very Cute!!!! You look great.

Your cheek contouring is boss! The outfit is awesome too, but your makeup is fan-freaking-tastic.

Thanks for all of the cheeky compliments, everyone! haha I didn't really do anything different with my makeup, but the lighting was pretty great this day. My friends often comment on my Cherokee cheekbones. Half French/half Cherokee will do that, I spose. :)

LOL you slay me with your wit! I love your jacket. Don't worry, Colorado is the same. Last week, I was sweating my face off in the triple digits, yesterday it was in the 70's and raining and today it was warm and sunny. Fun outfit!

I love this coat! The buttons that go down the back are absolutely fantastic. And yellow is my favorite color for outerwear ;)

This is one of my favorite outfits of yours!!

Such great colors in this outfit! The trench coat is really lovely. And the blouse is too cute. Don't even get me started on your bag. :D
XOXO

I really love this outfit. The red pants are amazing, I want them for myself!

Lauren @ See Parrot

What a cool outfit! Love the way you've matched the colors!

Happy Friday! ;D

Miki.

Hello,
Autumn has landed with a thud here in Scotland this week, so cotton dresses are being hastily packed away for winter. This outfit is so cute, although it may inspire me to be naughty later. I probably shouldn't read your blog before I pop into town for lunch with my Mum, it encourages me to buy more than lunch lol.

MMMMMMMustard. I love it. Absolutely one of my favorite fall tones. Great look!

Hi Mandi,

You look great! I love the yellow and red! What a beautiful combination!! And the checkered top and tie and lovely vintage bag! Everything works!

Have a great weekend!

Love LOVE the colors!

Your yellow coat makes my heart smile. Love, love, love.

Love this outfit! I find yellow and red so hard to wear together, but you do it so well! And I really dig those trousers!

oh man! I love that coat. so much that i pinned it. :)

Oh, that's too bad I won't see you in Chicago this weekend. I am hoping Renegade is super great. Let me know if you happen over this way anytime; I'd love to grab coffee.

Girl, you have GOT to start wearing more flattering outfits for your body types. I'm sorry but belly pouch pants don't look good unless you have a model-esque body

Hey "jen"-
You're WRONG.

Belly pouch pants are for people with belly pouches. And since I am not pregnant, nor do I have a large belly, I have no idea what you are talking about. But thank you anyway for your ongoing concern and thoughtful comments. And I hope you can let go of your body image issues and stop transferring them to other people who are secure in their beauty.

I LOVE this outfit! You look freaking amazing :)

You look absolutely stunning in this outfit. I have been reading your blog for a longtime now and always leave feeling so inspired by your outfits, thankyou!

I totally have that mustard coat!

love love love this!! both the styling and the outfit!

I love all your outfits, but especially this one! :)

that is some intense camel toe!

I Think you are beautiful and are a good role model for women of all sizes and that you have a vast array of wardrobe choices that compliment your figure in a number of ways, that are completely flattering, but sometimes they aren't. But the fact is that you are confident and that's all that matters. I don't think "Jen" is wrong, nor is she right. Perhaps her choice of language could have been different. But I don't think it's kind to assume she is projecting her body image issues onto you because of her comment.

Dottie, normally I would agree with you, but the comment I made to "Jen" was not just in response to this specific comment. I have had a commenter who uses the same computer (traceable using the IP address) but different names to repeatedly leave comments addressing my weight in passive aggressive ways. I would respond to this person via e-mail, but each e-mail address they leave is fake, so leaving a comment is the only way to address this commenter. When someone uses fake names and leaves multiple comments about my weight in demeaning ways, I can only assume they have personal body issues that they are projecting onto me. In any case, this person's persistence has been very discouraging to me and I plan on addressing these kinds of wounding behaviors in a very wordy post coming this way soon.

Sigh. I hate these kinds of things, but I also don't believe they should go unaddressed.

Can I just say that's an a.m.a.z.i.n.g coat? :)

Well, you can look up my IP and see that I'm not the same person who left any of the above comments. But I have to agree, those pants are unflattering. The name of your blog is "Here's Looking at Me, Kid." Inviting people to look at your camel toe and then getting mad when they comment about it seems childish.

You are absolutely beautiful. And whats even better is your confidence....its truly something to admire. Im always inspired by your blog, your style and your voice.

Ali, first of all, I did not even acknowledge the cameltoe comment until right now, when you brought it up again. My response that you read was directed towards the person using the name "Jen," who was using different names to passive aggressively attack my weight in various posts. Addressing an internet bully is not "getting mad," but rather standing up to someone who gets off on putting others down.

As far as childish behavior goes, telling someone they have cameltoe when they do not falls into the childish behavior category. (Even bringing up the topic is incredibly distasteful, especially when the ensemble towards which the criticism is directed does not merit such a statement.) The fact that the top of my thighs touch does not result in a cameltoe effect. I would never wear an outfit that lets "those" lady parts hang out, so you don't ever need to worry about having the burden to actually point that problem out to me.

Sure, I invite you to enter my online home and share in what inspires me. But if you are a rude and discourteous guest, your welcome begins to wear really thin. It is very childish to make rude comments about your host, which is essentially what criticizing someone about their alleged "cameltoe" is. Perhaps it isn't the most ladylike thing to confront these kinds of comments, but I really think that somehow validating crudeness by calling me childish for calmly reacting to it is really twisted.

This response of mine does not mean I can't take constructive criticism. In fact, I receive criticism quite frequently, think about those comments carefully, and many times agree with the commenter. But when someone makes derogatory comments about the shape of my body (I am referring to all comments, not strictly the comments in this post.) or nonexistent flaws in the way my vagina appears in my jeans, then we have a problem. Especially when that person thinks it is unreasonable for me to be offended and to stand up for myself.

It breaks my heart to see these folks make rude and ridiculous comments. You are one of my favorite online individuals - ha! I was taught to never say something online I wouldn't say in person and that if I didn't have anything nice to say, better not to say anything at all, but obviously these ladies didn't get those basic etiquette memos; they are simply showing how ugly they are in the inside, unlike you! I think your outfit is absolutely divine, as well as your blog, style, writing, design aesthetic, voice, charm and your rocking figure! I have been a follower for years, and you have been a constant inspiration!

XO

Mandi, I have never read your blog, but was directed here by a post on twopeasinabucket.com. They have started a hateful thread about your blog, and that is where the "camel-toe" discussion first arose. I was drawn here by curiosity, but frequently shutter in disgust at these women who have nothing better to do than post nasty, demeaning things about strangers on a message board.

I've browsed your blog, and it's beautiful. Being a writer and photographer myself, I admire your drive to create such a lovely blog. Your work is gorgeous and so are you! You are handling this situation with grace -- something that this (or these) women cannot say about themselves.

To the meanies: If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. You may be pretty or skinny on the outside, but acting like that makes you seem ugly on the inside.

Mandi, keep up the good work, girlie! <3

I also found your blog through twopeasinabucket, and I am so glad I did. I went back through some of your most recent posts, and I'm definitely going to be adding you to my favorites list.

I love your style, photography, and taste in movies. I also appreciate the thoughtful way you've responded to the negative comments that have been posted.

You look lovely, and your positive attitude magnifies that.

This is going to sound way more violent and possibly scary than I intend but should I see you I would have to seriously resist the temptation to steal that coat.

Your very eloquent and ladylike response up in this thread proves beyond a doubt that you have class.

Well said.

P.S. I still have designs on your coat. ;P

I see no camel toe. The pants may not be the most flattering, but I like the majority of your outfits and I say let mean people just pass over your head like a flying rat. You're lovely.
