Wooden Mini Album Cover Tutorial #3

This is the last of the cover tutorials for the wooden mini albums, which are available in The Housewife Kit.  I hope these have been some help to you!

Here's what you might need:

-Wooden Mini Album Cover

- Letter Stickers

- Decorative rub ons

- Sylus

- Slick Writer or Sharpie

Step One:

Select a decorative rub on that will run the width of your album cover.  Then, carefully cut it in half.

Step Two:

Place the last word of your title, using the letter stickers you have chosen, aligned with the bottom right of your book.  Then, align half of the rub on next to it, running all the way to the bottom edge of the cover.  Then, place the other half at the top of your cover, running all the way across the book.  The last part of this step is simply rubbing them onto your wooden cover, making sure each little detail has been adhered.

Now that you have your cover looking beautiful, there is one part left!  The rest of your title.

Step Three:

Using your slick writer or fine sharpie, fill in the rest of the space above your letter stickers with the beginning part of your title.  I like to write my word in the air above the book first, just to make sure it will fit.  Sort of a trial run.  Then, I lower my pen to touch the book and scribble away!

That's all there is to it.  Very simple design, but a nice intro to a lovely book, wouldn't you say?

very cute mandi

I have been agonizing over what to do with my cover and now I have 3 fabulous ideas. Um......maybe I should order 2 more kits and then I can make them all 3. :) Thanks for the great tutorials!

Is the paper available separately as well? I think I would want to have two of each. That's just the way I roll! :)

so cool! this is what i did with my cover!

This is my favorite of the three as well. I loved all three but there's just something about this one that I REALLY LOVE! Thanks for sharing these! You're AWESOME!

Hmmm. This is a fabulous idea for a cover. Definitely on my list of things to try!

I freakin' love this. I'm not a big rub on gal, but I buy BG rubs like crazy for collageyish (?) stuff. This rocks.

very cute.

Hi Mandi!
I am new to your blog, so my apologies if you've answered this before, but I was wondering if you sell only the wooden mini covers? or if you would be willing to share where you get them?

Thanks in advance,
LY

Hi There!  I do make the albums myself, and was hoping to wait until the kits sold out until I started selling them alone.  The kits haven't sold out, and I'm thinking sometime in October I will finish up some more albums and put them up for sale independently.  Just stay tuned to the blog and I will update as I progress with this!xoMandi

OK, thanks! Can't wait! :)

LOVE your journaling. Totally getting my creative juices running :) This journal cover is definately my favorite <3
